| John Powell has lived in Kona, Hawaii
since 1991. When he's not working, he's hiking in the
forests on Mount Hualalai, along the shore, or on one
of the many lava fields that comprise Kona. The prints
shown here represent a synthesis of his interests in
art and nature and his love for the lands of Kona.
John's daily thoughts, observations, diary and random
musings can be found on his blog, "Kona,
Naturally!"
John painted with acrylics
for many years, but has found
that the combination of photography
and Photoshop are perfect for
fulfilling his creative desires.
He has been a member of the
Sierra Club for many years,
and in his day job as an attorney,
he helped win an important
environmental/Hawaiian rights
case, Ka Pa’akai O Ka
Aina v. Land Use Commission,
94 Hawaii 31, 7 P.3rd 1068
(2000).
